Mustafizur Rahman is in the news right now. He will play for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026, due to which many people are criticizing this franchise as well. The owner of this team is Shahrukh Khan, that is why some politicians and Bhagwatcharya are giving controversial statements on him, calling him a traitor. Controversy on this is increasing.

Mustafizur Rahman is the only player of Bangladesh, who was sold in the auction held for IPL 2026. It was not that only Kolkata Knight Riders wanted to buy him, because if it was so, his price would not have crossed Rs 9 crore. However, KKR included Mustafizur in their squad by making the highest bid of Rs 9.20 crore. There was not much controversy then, but why is it suddenly being opposed now?

What is the reason for the dispute?

A few days ago, there was mob lynching of two Hindu youths in Bangladesh. Both were brutally murdered. Some of its videos also went viral on social media, which increased the anger of the Indian people. The ruckus increased and then some people started raising demands on social media that when this is happening to Hindus in Bangladesh, then how can their players come to India and play after getting such a huge amount of money.

Demands started rising to ban Bangladeshi players from IPL. The controversy further increased when Devkinandan Thakur called Shahrukh Khan anti-India and anti-Hindu. BJP leader Sangeet Som called Shahrukh a traitor. After this this controversy increased further.

Will there be a IPL ban for Bangladesh players?

Currently, Pakistan is the only country whose players cannot play in the world’s biggest cricket league, IPL. Regarding Bangladesh players, a BCCI official told InsideSport that at present there is nothing due to which Bangladesh players should be banned. According to the report, he said, “Mustafizur Rahman will play IPL and Bangladesh is not an enemy country.”
