Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has issued a statement expressing deep grief over the mass demonstrations and violence in the country on Monday (September 8). He said that today I am extremely upset by the sad incident during the protests on the call of Gen-Z generation. We were confident that our youth would keep their demands in peace, but unfortunately, the situation deteriorated due to infiltration of some selfish elements and our citizens lost their lives. this is very sad.
Prime Minister Oli clarified that the government was never in favor of banning social media and would create an necessary environment to ensure its use in the country. He said, “There was no need to perform continuously for this. Now this situation will not be allowed to move forward.”

Violence in Nepal will be investigated
He assured that this incident will be thoroughly investigated. He further said, “I want to assure the people of the country that an inquiry committee will be formed, which will fully review the events, damage, situation and its causes. This committee will submit its report within 15 days and suggest to prevent such incidents in future.”
PM Oli made this appeal to youth
Prime Minister Oli appealed that the youth and citizens should maintain peace and stay away from violence. He said that the government is committed to hear the voice of the public and find a solution to their problems.
