According to Dr. Anil Mangal, Ayurveda of Bengaluru, avoid curd based foods like curd in monsoon, as they can slow down digestion and increase phlegm.

Besan slows down digestion

Kadhi contains gram flour, which is heavy to digest. The digestive system in the monsoon is already weak and gram flour increases further pressure on it. This can cause problems like gas, blotting and stomach heaviness. Light and hot foods such as soup or khichdi are best in monsoon. In such a situation, things made of gram flour should be avoided.

Spices and oil increase bile defects

Oil and spices such as asafoetida, cumin, rye are used to apply a tadka in Kadhi. According to Ayurveda, more spices and oil can increase bile defects, which can cause acidity, heartburn and skin problems. This is the reason why eat light spices and low oil foods during the month of Sawan.

Danger of bacteria in moisture

Due to humidity in the monsoon, bacteria and fungus in yogurt can grow quickly. If Kadhi is not stored properly then this problem may increase. These bacteria can cause food poisoning or infection.
