Commonwealth Games 2030 In India: The Government of India wants to organize the Commonwealth Games 2030. Ahmedabad was selected to hold these games in the country. Will 2030 Commonwealth Games be held in India?
The Executive Board of Commonwealth Sports today informed on Wednesday, October 15 that India is included in the bidding process. Ahmedabad was named by India for organizing the Commonwealth Games. The decision on whether the Commonwealth Games 2030 will be held in Ahmedabad or not will be taken in the Commonwealth Sports General Assembly meeting to be held in Glasgow on 26 November 2025. Only on November 26 will the final decision be taken as to which country will host the Commonwealth Games 2030.
Nigeria in race with Ahmedabad
The Commonwealth Sports Executive Board is also considering holding these games in Nigeria, Africa. Dr. Donald Rukare, Executive Chairman of Commonwealth Sports, says, ‘We are grateful for the thinking and commitment of both India and Nigeria. The proposals of both to host the Commonwealth Games are very good and inspiring. The final decision regarding this will be taken in the General Assembly in Glasgow.
‘A matter of honor for India’
On India’s participation in the bidding process for the Commonwealth Games 2030, PT Usha, President of the Commonwealth Games Association of India, said, ‘It will be a great honor for India that we will get the opportunity to organize the Centenary Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad. These games will not only showcase India’s world class sporting prowess, but will also show our growing steps towards a developed India 2047.
