Us-Russia Relations: The US may be ready to recognize Russia’s control over Crimea under the peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. This has been claimed in Bloomberg’s report. This news has come when US President Donald Trump is trying to negotiate to stop the war between the two countries.
In 2014, Russia attacked Crimea and held a controversial referendum there. America and most other countries have not accepted this merger. If America considers Crimea as part of Russia, it will be against international rules, because according to these rules it is considered wrong to occupy an area by force.
This big claim has been made in the report
According to the report, Trump and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio are getting very upset at the slow pace of peace talks. On Friday, the two leaders said that if there is no result soon, America can be out of the talks.
Trump told reporters, “The longer this process lasts, the more difficult it will be to justify our participation.” He also said that if any party keeps delaying this process, then America will stop trying for the agreement.
Jailonsky has protested
Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky has opposed the proposal to give any area to Russia. He has repeatedly said that Ukraine will not consider any area including Crimea to be a part of Russia. Speaking in Kiev on Thursday, he accused Trump’s messenger Steve Vitkoff of talking in support of Russia.
Jailonsky said, “We will never consider Ukrainian land as part of Russia. There can be no discussion on our region before the ceasefire.”
Talk is going on about the ceasefire
Meanwhile, conversation is going on behind the curtain. US authorities recently made a proposal with European countries in Paris, making a plan that will try to stop existing battles and if there is a permanent ceasefire, the restrictions on Moscow will be gradually reduced. In this scheme, Ukraine’s desire to join NATO will also be removed from the conversation, which is an old demand in Russia.
Officials from America, France, Germany, Britain and Ukraine participated in this conversation in Paris. In a private meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron and American messenger Vitchoff discussed how the peace agreement and the ceasefire would be monitored.
Russia is not excited for a partial ceasefire. Kremlin has ended the 30 -day ceasefire in attacks on Ukraine’s energy structure and is still targeting Ukrainian cities. Last week, 35 people were killed in a Russian missile attack in Sumi. Kiev believes that further interactions can happen only when Russia is also ready to stop the attacks.
