Will GST now get GST on transactions above Rs 2000 from UPI? Government gave this answer

UPI Transaction: Through UPI, GST was being claimed on transactions of more than two thousand rupees on social media. But on Friday, an explanation has been issued by the Finance Ministry. The ministry said in its statement- This claim that the government is considering imposing GST on UPI transactions worth more than two thousand rupees, it is absolutely false. It is misleading and rumors are being blown without any basis. No such proposal is in front of the government.

The government has removed the fee on digital payment MDR i.e. merchant discount rate since January 2020 and is not feeling any kind of GST. & Nbsp; Government also told how it is constantly promoting digital payment through UPI. Through this scam, the service provides rewards to providers, so that the transaction cost can be compensated and more and more people can be encouraged to use UPI.

This scheme shows how the government promotes digital payments. The government has started an incentive scheme for P2M transactions from the year 2021. Under this scheme, digital allocated digital allocated during 2021-22, 2210 crore during 2022-23 and 3631 crore during 2023-24.

The government said that there has been a tremendous increase in digital payment through UPI in India. Only the merchants were paid 59.3 lakh crores, which shows the increasing confidence in the digital payment of consumers.
