The Asia Cup ended on 28 September, in which India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final. After that the trophy controversy remains in constant discussion. Meanwhile, the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 has started from 30 September. Team India defeated Sri Lanka by 59 runs in the first match and now they have to face Pakistan (IND vs Pak Next Match) on 5 October. Questions arise that, will the Asia Cup controversy affect the Indo-Pak match to be held in the World Cup.
From the point of view of management and organizers, the Asia Cup and World Cup are two completely different tournaments. The Asia Cup is organized by ACC, while the World Cup tournament comes under the ICC. From this point of view, the Asia Cup dispute should not affect the India-Pakistan World Cup match. However, the political relations between India and Pakistan are in a very poor condition. This can affect the World Cup match, it is possible that women teams also do not handhek.
Can the match be canceled?
In fact, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has made it clear in a conversation with BBC that the Indo-Pak match will be played in Colombo in the Women’s World Cup 2025. Saikia also made it clear that the Indian team will follow all the rules that fall under the Guidelines of the Marlibone Cricket Club (MCC). This statement of Saikia has eliminated all the possibilities of cancellation of Indo-Pak match.
A total of 11 matches have been played between India and Pakistan in international women’s ODI cricket, in which Team India has won every time. India has won a big win over the Pak team in ODIs on every occasion.
