Now a report by RevSportz has revealed that Pathirana will soon join the KKR squad and will be available to play in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2. In the mini auction of IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders bought Pathirana with a bid of Rs 18 crore.

If sources are to be believed, Mathisha Pathirana may get approval to play in IPL 2026 from March 25-27, whereas IPL 2026 is scheduled to start from March 28. Rumors were flying on social media that Sri Lanka Cricket Board has not given NOC to Pathirana to play in IPL. RevSportz’s report revealed that this news is false and Pathirana has not yet applied for NOC.

If he wants to participate in IPL, Pathirana will have to pass a fitness test before that. There is no problem regarding getting NOC, once Pathirana becomes fit, only then he will be provided NOC. The good news is that he has started practicing in the nets, but is not able to bowl with full strength right now. Pathirana’s close friends believe that he will be completely fit before IPL 2026.

Mathisha Pathirana was injured during the T20 World Cup 2026 tournament, due to which he had to be ruled out of the remaining matches of the World Cup. According to the report, information related to Pathirana’s fitness has been sent to Kolkata Knight Riders. There is good news for KKR and its fans that Pathirana will be available for the match against SRH on April 2.
