Pakistan has rejected the news of boycotting T20 World Cup 2026. In fact, Bangladesh has been demanding to shift its T20 World Cup matches to Sri Lanka for the last several weeks. Recently news came that Pakistan has supported Bangladesh in the venue change issue and is ready to even boycott the T20 World Cup. Pakistan has termed these news as rumours.

According to a report by RevSportz, a source said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not taken any such decision. This source also said that Pakistan has no right to boycott the T20 World Cup matches, because its matches are already being played in a neutral venue (Sri Lanka) and people are deliberately trying to instigate the fire.

Amidst the increasing political tension between India and Bangladesh, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has written letters to ICC several times regarding changing the venue. First he demanded to have his matches played in Sri Lanka, then he also demanded a group swap with Ireland. According to the latest update, ICC has clearly told Bangladesh to take its final decision by January 21, otherwise its place in the World Cup will be given to Scotland.

This whole controversy started after Mustafizur Rahman’s release from the Indian Premier League. On the instructions of BCCI, Kolkata Knight Riders had released Rahman. In response to this, BCB had refused to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup.
