There is a lot of talk about the sequel to the 2009 blockbuster film ‘3 Idiots’. Many reports claim that Rajkumar Hirani is working on it, while others say that the film’s original cast Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi are interested in making a comeback. However, two of these three OG ‘idiots’, Aamir and Madhavan, have now put an end to the ongoing speculations regarding the possibility of a sequel.

In an interview with Subhash K Jha for Bollywood Hungama, Madhavan said, “It feels good to make a sequel to 3 Idiots. But it also feels a bit awkward. All three of us, Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and I, are quite old now. Where will we go in the sequel? What will our lives be like now? It’s an interesting idea. But it’s hardly right for a good sequel. I’m working with Raju Hirani again. Would love to do Three Idiots again I think.

Aamir Khan said that he would like to do a sequel to 3 Idiots, but he also said that no one has contacted him yet. He said, “We had a lot of fun making that film! My character Rancho is my favorite character till date. People still talk about Rancho. So yes, I would like to do a sequel. But no one has contacted me.”
