Tension between India and Pakistan is at its peak, it has a direct impact on the T20 World Cup 2026. The Pakistan government has made it clear that its national cricket team will not play the match with the Indian team on 15 February. This decision has also raised the possibility that there may never be a match between India and Pakistan in the future. Know what former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali said on this question in a special conversation with ABP.

In an interview given to ABP, Basit Ali expressed concern over India-Pakistan cricket relations. He said that now the International Cricket Council will make new rules to deal with this entire issue, because currently the rule is such that if the government of the country refuses, then that team will not play. He also targeted India for refusing to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. According to him, Pakistan has now taken a similar decision.

Will India-Pakistan match not happen now?

On whether India-Pakistan matches will be held in future or not, Basit Ali said, “The broadcasters will face the biggest problem in this because the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for the India vs Pakistan match has been signed till the year 2031. There are also matches for women’s teams. Pakistan will not play there too.”

After 2012, no bilateral series has been played between India and Pakistan. Bilateral series of both the countries are already closed and now the same is going to happen in multilateral events also. Basit Ali has also said in sign language that cricket fans will hardly get to see any India-Pak match now. Not only in men’s but also in women’s cricket, India and Pakistan may not come face to face.
