The proceedings of the winter session of Delhi Assembly are going to start from Monday (05 January 2026). The assembly session will start from January 5 and continue till January 8. The session will start at 11:00 am with the address of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena.
During this time, an outline of government policies, upcoming plans and major issues related to the capital is expected to be presented. Delhi government will discuss pollution. It will also bring proposals on pollution and environment.
Rekha Gupta government will bring three CAG reports
According to the information, Rekha Gupta’s government will bring three CAG reports in the House. In this, reports will come on former CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence (Sheesh Mahal), Delhi Jal Board and Delhi Government universities.
Security and administrative preparations for the session completed
In view of the winter session, security and administrative preparations have also been completed. After the address of LG of Delhi, the proceedings of the House will start after an interval of about 30 minutes. In which the government’s special focus will be on issues related to pollution and environment.
There may be a heated debate between the government and the opposition
Political allegations and counter-allegations between the ruling party and the opposition regarding the CAG reports are likely to intensify. In this session of the Assembly which will last for four days, a heated debate can be seen between the government and the opposition. The Assembly building located at the old secretariat will once again become the center of political activities, where public representatives will raise issues related to the people of Delhi in the House. It is believed that this session can play an important role in deciding the direction of Delhi politics.
In the press note issued earlier by the Delhi Assembly Secretariat, it has been mentioned that this winter session has special significance. Special focus is likely to be placed on issues like progress of development works, administrative efficiency, and financial discipline.
