Indian women’s cricket team won its first World Cup title by defeating South Africa in the final played on Sunday. There is an atmosphere of celebration in the entire country after India became world champion. Every player played an important role in making India the champion, it was not just about the final but every player was fighting from the first match. Renuka Thakur of Himachal Pradesh also played an important role in making India champion. For his contribution, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for him.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh also spoke to Renuka Singh on phone after India won the World Cup. Congratulating Renuka on her victory, he said that the daughters of the country have brought glory to India in the world. He was quoted in the media report as saying that he described Renuka as an inspiration for the youth of the state and said that Himachal’s daughter playing in the team is a matter of pride for the entire state. While talking to Renuka, he said that the state government will give him a prize money of Rs 1 crore.
The report quoted the Chief Minister as saying that he watched half of the semi-final match against Australia and more than half of the final. She saw a women’s cricket match for the first time. CM said that Renuka Singh fulfilled the dream which almost every daughter of the mountain sees. Struggling and becoming a part of the World Cup team after winning is the pride of the country and Himachal Pradesh. Renuka showed that if there is faith and passion, every dream can be fulfilled.
