New rules: Today, in the beginning of October 1, 2025, the Government of India has implemented many major changes through the Finance Ministry, which will directly affect the everyday life and financial planning of the common people. Let us know what changes have been made from UPI transactions to railway tickets, which are going to affect your pocket:
1. Changes in National Pension System (NPS):
From October 1, non-government subscribers in NPS can now invest up to 100% equity in multiple scheme framework (MSF). Earlier this limit was 75%. Apart from this, on opening PRAN (Permanent Retirement Account Number), private sector employees will have to pay an e-pran kit fee of Rs 18 and an annual maintenance charge of Rs 18. The Pran Opening and Maintenance Charge for Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and NPS Light Subscribers will be Rs 15. There will be no additional fees on the transaction.
2. Changes in railway ticket booking:
From October 1, before the opening of railway reservation, only 15 minutes will be for those people who are verified. There will be no change on those taking tickets from PRS counter. Railway agents will not be able to book tickets for the first 10 minutes before the reservation opens. Its purpose is to stop rigging in ticket booking.
3. Online Gaming Rules:
Under Online Gaming Bill 2025, people under 18 years of age will not be able to attend online real money gaming from October 1. A 3 -year jail and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore can be imposed on violation. Promoters may have to pay a sentence of two years and a fine of Rs 50 lakh. The government is taking this step with the aim of promoting e-sports and bringing control of financial losses.
4. Changes in LPG prices:
Oil companies are changing the prices of domestic LPG cylinders from 1 October. This will directly affect people’s kitchen.
5. Changes in UPI transactions:
Now transactions of up to 5 lakh rupees can be done from UPI at a time. This step will help in cheating and reducing fishing.
6. Postal Service – Speed Post Changes:
New features of speed posts include OTP based delivery, real-time tracking, online booking and SMS notifications. A discount of 10% for students and 5% discount for new wholesale customers is also applicable. These changes can directly affect your financial transactions, investment, travel and everyday needs.
