Spine fracture recovery: World Spine Day is celebrated every year on 16 October. The purpose behind celebrating this day is to make people aware about the importance of the spinal cord and the diseases related to it. The spine is the support through which the entire body achieves balance and movement. If there is any problem in the spinal cord, it directly affects the body. Sometimes it becomes difficult for people to live a normal life. Many people take it lightly, but taking back pain or spine problem lightly can cost you heavily later. Let us tell you why and how.

Does the spinal cord not join again after breaking?

People often have this question whether the spinal cord can be joined again once it is broken or not. According to experts, there is a possibility of its joining. But it completely depends on where the injury occurred and how serious it is. For example, if the fracture is mild, it can be cured with rest, physiotherapy and medicines. In severe cases, when bone fragments put pressure on the spinal cord, surgery is required. However, it is worth noting that if there is serious damage to the spinal cord, it does not function normally again. In such a situation, it becomes difficult for the patients to walk and lead a normal life. Or it is also possible that they may become permanently paralyzed.

How many types of problems are there?

If we talk about the many types of problems related to the spine, the first name that comes to mind is slip disc. In this, the cushion between the spinal cord comes out, due to which there is pressure on the nerves. Spinal stenosis comes second. In this, the space between the veins becomes narrow, causing pain and tingling. Osteoporosis comes third, in this the bones become weak and can break even with minor problems. The name of spinal tumor comes at number four and it is quite dangerous. A person’s life can also be lost in this. People ignore back pain or neck pain considering it as normal fatigue. Many people work bent over for long periods of time, sit incorrectly or do not do enough exercise. The result is that gradually the pressure on the spine increases and we start suffering from many diseases.

Ways to avoid this

The most important solution to avoid this is to stand, sit and work in correct posture. Exercise for at least 30 minutes daily. Along with this, keep your weight under control, so that there is not too much load on the spine.
