Annie Jacobson, an expert and investigative journalist of the nuclear war, has said that after the nuclear war, such a disastrous situation will arise all over the world, which no one can imagine. The whole world will be covered with snow sheet, crops will get spoiled and the heat will fall so much that humans will not be able to tolerate. Nevertheless, there will be two countries on which this terrible situation will not have any effect.
Annie Jacobson was Pulitzer’s finalist in 2016. She was the finalist for her search work done on DARPA, the research agency of the US Department of Defense Department, Pentagon. Annie Jacobson said in the ‘Diary of A CEO’ podcast that during the year 1959-60, the analysis that the nuclear physicist and the former scientist of Pentagon had done about the nuclear war were still right and even today.
Annie Jacobson said that the impact of the nuclear war will not only have an explosion, but after that such a disastrous situation will arise, in which it will be very difficult for the people to be alive. He has also cited research by Atmospheric Science Expert Professor Brian Toon, who warned that the global climate would be destructively damaged.
Annie Jacobson said that after the nuclear war, the whole world will be covered with a sheet of snow, especially the countries that are at the middle latitude. Crops will be ruined and when there are no crops, then how will humans remain alive. He said, ‘The sunlight will be fatal. The ozone layer must have been so wasted that a person will not be able to get out even in sunlight. Radiation will become poisonous. People will have to stay underground and people will be fighting each other for one grain. Still there will be only two countries where there will not be such an outcry and they are New Zealand and Australia.
Professor Brian Toon also said that only Australia and New Zealand would be able to avoid the coolness generated due to nuclear war. He said that the geographical location and stable climate of these countries will save them and they will be able to preserve the food production system.
