In the first match of the double header in the Women’s Premier League on Saturday, UP Warriors defeated Mumbai Indians by 23 runs. Batting first, UP Warriors had scored 187 runs. This is Mumbai’s second consecutive defeat and UP’s second consecutive win.
Mumbai Indians had a very bad start while chasing the target, the team’s first wicket in the form of Sajna Sajeevan (10) fell at the score of 23. Shikha Pandey gave only 3 runs in the 19th over
Mumbai Indians remained in the match for 18 overs, Amanjot Kaur and Amelia Kerr had raised hopes of victory for the team. But in the 19th over, Shikha Pandey made the entire match one-sided. He gave only 3 runs and took the important wicket of Amanjot Kaur, who scored 41 runs in 24 balls. Amelia Kerr remained unbeaten after scoring 49. Mag Lanning and Lichfield played stormy innings

He was bowled by Nicola Carey, after which captain Meg Lanning along with Phoebe Lichfield made a century partnership (119) for the second wicket. Lichfield became the victim of Amanjot Kaur after scoring 61 runs in 37 balls. In this innings he hit 3 sixes and 7 fours.
Mag Lanning was out in the 14th over on the ball of Hayley Mathews, she scored 70 runs in 45 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 11 fours. He also received the Player of the Match award for this innings. After this, excellent bowling was seen from Natalie Siver and Amelia Kerr.
