WPL 2026: RCB reached the playoffs after winning the fifth consecutive match, Gautami Naik played a brilliant inning of 73 runs in 55 balls.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Gujarat Giants (GG) by 61 runs in the 12th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) played at the BCA Stadium on Monday. RCB has become the first team to reach the playoffs with its fifth consecutive win this season.

After losing the toss, RCB came out to bat and scored 178 runs after losing 6 wickets in the stipulated overs. This team had lost its 2 wickets for 9 runs.

From here, captain Smriti Mandhana took charge of the team by making a partnership of 60 runs in 45 balls with Gautami Naik. Mandhana returned to the pavilion after scoring 26 runs in 23 balls, after which Gautami along with Richa Ghosh put the team in a strong position by scoring 69 runs in 45 balls.

Gautami Naik was out after scoring 73 runs in 55 balls with 1 six and 7 fours, while Ghosh contributed 27 runs to the team’s account.

From the opposition camp, Kashvi Gautam and Ashley Gardner took 2-2 wickets, while Renuka Thakur and Sophie Devine took 1-1 wicket.

In response, Gujarat Giants could score only 117 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. This team had lost 3 wickets for 5 runs. From here, Anushka Sharma tried to take control of the team by making a partnership of 29 runs for the fourth wicket with captain Ashley Gardner, but the team faltered again as soon as Anushka Sharma (18) was out.

Giants had lost 6 wickets till the score of 56. From here Bharti Fulmali made a partnership of 41 runs in 24 balls with Gardner. Gardner was out after scoring 54 runs in 43 balls with 1 six and 5 fours, while Bharti contributed 14 runs to the team’s account, but the Giants could not avoid an embarrassing defeat.

For RCB, Sayli Satghare took maximum 3 wickets, while Nadine de Klerk took 2 wickets. Apart from these, Lauren Bell, Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil took 1 wicket each.
