India at third place, Sri Lanka and Australia ahead

Tough test on foreign soil

Team India will have to go through difficult series abroad also. India will tour Sri Lanka after nine years in August 2026. In October 2026, the team will play two matches against New Zealand. This is the same ground where India has not been able to win any Test match since 2009.

India still waiting for first WTC trophy

India reached the WTC final twice (2021 and 2023) but failed to win the title. In the 2025 edition, the team was even able to qualify for the finals. Now Shubman Gill’s young team has this opportunity to create history in its third attempt.
