Yamaha India has taken a big step in the Indian two-wheeler market with its two new models. The company has launched Yamaha FZ-Rave and Yamaha XSR 155. Both the bikes target different segments. FZ-Rave falls in the commuter and street bike segment, while the XSR 155 is a premium bike in the neo-retro segment. Apart from this, Yamaha has also introduced its first electric scooter.

Yamaha FZ-Rave

  • Yamaha FZ-Rave is a new model of the company’s popular FZ series. Its ex-showroom price in Delhi has been kept at Rs 1,17,218. The design of the bike is very aggressive and modern, which has been prepared keeping the youth in mind. It has full-LED projector headlamps, integrated position light and muscular fuel tank. The bike is available in two colors: Matte Titan and Metallic Black.

Engine and Performance

  • FZ-Rave has a 149cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, which generates 12.4 PS power (7,250 rpm) and 13.3 Nm torque (5,500 rpm). The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. This engine is known for its linear acceleration and high fuel efficiency. The special thing is that it is compatible with E20 fuel (20% Ethanol Mixture), which means it is also better for the environment.

Safety and features

  • For safety, Yamaha has provided single-channel ABS, hydraulic disc brakes and digital instrument cluster in FZ-Rave. The complete LED lighting setup gives a premium look to the bike. The company’s FZ series has sold more than 2.75 million units in India so far, which further increases its confidence.

Yamaha XSR 155

  • The Yamaha XSR 155 is for riders who give priority to both performance and style. This bike is part of Yamaha’s global XSR lineup and its look is a mixture of both classic and modern. The XSR 155 features a round LED headlamp, teardrop-style fuel tank, and flat single-piece seat, making it a true neo-retro motorcycle. This bike competes with bikes like Royal Enfield Hunter 350, TVS Ronin and Honda CB350RS.

Engine and Performance

  • This motorcycle has a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, which generates 18.1 bhp power (10,000 rpm) and 14.2 Nm torque (8,500 rpm). It has Yamaha’s special Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) Technology, which gives smooth power delivery in all RPM ranges. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and assist and slipper clutch is provided as standard. For braking, dual-channel ABS and traction control system are standard. It also has a 10 liter fuel tank, full digital instrument cluster, and LED lighting. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 1.50 lakh. Let us tell you that along with these two new bikes, Yamaha has also introduced its first electric scooter. However, the company has not disclosed its specifications.
