After that, a program was to be organized at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to celebrate the team’s victory. Due to this, a large number of fans had gathered outside the stadium, but due to the huge crowd, a stampede broke out, in which 11 people lost their lives and about 30 people were injured. After that incident, till now Chinnaswamy Stadium has not got permission to organize any competitive match.

no handshake controversy

India and Pakistan came face to face three times in Asia Cup 2025. When their first clash took place on September 14, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav did not shake hands with Pakistani captain Salman Aga at the time of the toss. Even after winning the match, Team India went straight to the dressing room and did not come out to shake hands with the Pakistani players. This trend of not shaking hands continued in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 and other multilateral tournaments thereafter.

Team India refused to go to Pakistan

Champions Trophy 2025 was hosted by Pakistan, but several weeks before the start of the tournament, a question had arisen whether Team India would go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy or not. There was a lot of uproar regarding this topic on social media. In the end, an agreement was reached between BCCI and PCB to hold Team India’s matches at neutral venues. A condition was also laid in it that the Pakistani team will not come to India in future for multilateral events to be held in India. Therefore, in recent times, matches of both the teams have been held at neutral venues.

Haris Rauf’s 6-0 and fighter jet gesture

During the Asia Cup, Haris Rauf was in the news for his 6-0 and the gesture of shooting down a fighter jet. Haris’ 6-0 gesture was pointing towards Pakistan Army’s claim in which it had shot down 6 Indian fighter jets during Operation Sindoor and not a single jet of its own was destroyed.

Mohsin Naqvi ran away with the trophy

India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final of Asia Cup 2025. But after that Team India refused to take the trophy from the hands of PCB and ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Due to this, the presentation ceremony started late by one and a half hour. In the end Naqvi did not give up his stubbornness and ran away from the field with the trophy. The Indian team has not yet received the trophy, which is still with Mohsin Naqvi.
