Yes Bank New MD and CEO: Private sector bank Yes Bank has announced changes in its top leadership. The bank has appointed Vinay Muralidhar Tonse as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. He is going to officially assume the responsibility of this post from 6 April 2026.
According to the information given by the bank to the stock exchange, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved his appointment. Tonse’s appointment will be for a period of three years. Let us know about them…

The bank believes that Vinay Muralidhar Tonse’s long experience and strong leadership abilities can prove to be very useful for Yes Bank. While working in the banking sector for more than three decades, he has handled many important responsibilities.
Besides, he has also gained experience of working in different fields. In such a situation, the bank hopes that under his guidance it will help in strengthening the business and operational strategy of the bank and further growth can also get a new direction.
Who is Vinay Muralidhar Tonse?
Vinay Muralidhar Tonse is considered an experienced professional of the banking sector. He has more than 30 years of experience in this field. He started his career in the year 1988 as a Probationary Officer in State Bank of India (SBI). After this, he spent a long time handling different responsibilities in the bank.
Between November 2023 and November 2025, he held the post of Managing Director (Retail Business and Operations) in SBI. During his career, he has worked in many important areas like Corporate Credit, International Banking, Treasury Operations, Equity Portfolio Management, Retail Banking and Agricultural Banking. Along with this, he has also served as MD and CEO in SBI Mutual Fund. Due to this experience, he is considered a strong and trustworthy leader in the banking industry.
