Yograj singh on Virat Kohli Retirement: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have said goodbye to the Test format. Now Yograj Singh, father of veteran cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has given a sharp statement on the retirement of both senior players. Yograj Singh objected to the decision of both of them and said that Rohit and Virat could continue to play cricket at least five years. Just before Team India’s tour of England, his retirement was shocking for the cricket world.
During a conversation with Inside Sport, Yograj Singh said, “Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should not have retired from the Test. I told Rohit to get up at 5 in the morning and run a 20 km race to stay fit. Virat and Rohit can still play for five more years in Test cricket. They should continue the game.”
Yograj Singh got angry
Expressing anger over the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, he also said that as long as the youth were ready to handle the team, they should have stayed in the team. He said, “He should have stayed in the team until the youth got ready to lift the weight of the team, exactly the same, as Sourav Ganguly did. The legacy has not moved forward, he has been thrown only towards Shubman Gill.”
Shubman Gill got captaincy
After Rohit Sharma’s retirement, Shubman Gill has been given the captaincy of the Indian Test team and Rishabh Pant has been made the vice -captain. Gill will be captaining Team India for the first time in the series against England. Please tell that Gill has already been made vice -captain in ODI format.
