First step

First of all you have to decide which record you want to make. Log in by visiting the official website of Guinness World Records (www.guinnessworldrecords.com) (www.guinnessworldrecords.com). Choose the category and click on ‘Apply Now’. In the application, you have to tell the details of your record, rule and plan to complete it. The application is free, but its review may take 12-16 weeks. The Guinness team will investigate your proposal and if it is accepted, you will get guidelines and rules.

Preparation of record

Once your application is accepted, start preparing to break or make records. Guinness rules have to be strictly followed. If your record is large, such as collective events, then Guinness officials can be present on the spot.

When you are ready to make a record, make sure that all rules are being followed. Record your effort in the video, which shows the entire process from beginning to end. After submitting the evidence, the Guinness team will investigate your effort. If everything goes well, then you will get the official Guinness World Record Certificate and your name can be recorded in their book. If the record is not accepted, you will be given the reason and you can try again.
