How does DigiLocker work?
To keep documents in DigiLocker, you will first have to create an account in it. For this you will have to download DigiLocker app in your phone or go to the website digilocker.gov.in. New users will have to verify with OTP by entering the mobile number and then set the username and password. After this you will have to link your DigiLocker account with Aadhar card.

Because Aadhaar link is necessary for most government services including ration card. In this, OTP verification will have to be completed by clicking on Link Aadhaar. When this setup is complete. Then you can go to the Issued Documents or Get Documents section of DigiLocker. From where documents of all government departments can be downloaded.
Download ration card like this
To download the ration card, after logging in, you will have to go to the Issued Documents section and select the option of Food and Civil Supplies Department or “Public Distribution Department. After this, select your state, like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra or any other state. Then you will have to enter your ration card number, RC number or Family ID in the form given there. After clicking on Get Document, your digital ration card will appear on the screen within a few seconds.

If you want, you can download it as PDF or save it in your DigiLocker account. This card is officially verified. Therefore it can be shown in any government scheme or identification process. If ration card information is not visible. So you will have to update the data by visiting the website of your state’s PDS department.
