The United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the 20th and last team to qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after defeating Japan by eight wickets in the final Asia-EAP qualifying match here on Thursday.
Batting first, the Japanese team could score only 116 runs for nine wickets. UAE achieved the target by losing two wickets in just 12.1 overs. The UAE has qualified for the World Cup by finishing in the top three at the Asia-East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers in Oman.
In this way, it has joined Nepal and Oman who had confirmed their places on Wednesday, thus completing the final list of 20 teams for the global tournament.
Thus, the 20 teams that have qualified for the T20 World Cup are India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Nepal, Oman, UAE, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, USA, Canada and Ireland.
