Abhishek Sharma is in the mood to thrash the bowlers tremendously. Before his next match in Vijay Hazare Trophy, he has hit not one or two but 45 sixes in the nets. According to a media report, during practice at Anantam Cricket Ground in Jaipur, Abhishek practiced attacking spin bowlers and hit 45 sixes one after the other.
Abhishek hit 45 sixes
He practiced for about an hour, during which he faced only spin bowlers. He also practiced against off-spin, leg spin and left-arm orthodox spin bowling. The pitch was behaving differently, where some balls had very sharp turn and on some occasions unusual bounce was seen.
Abhishek Sharma faced difficulties against balls whose length was short, but Abhishek responded with footwork. According to the report, during this entire practice session, he hit a total of 45 sixes.
Will complete his century with extra cover sixes only
During this practice session, coach Sandeep Sharma said jokingly, “You want to complete your century by hitting a six over extra cover.” A red net was placed on short extra cover for wrong shots, in which Abhishek got trapped once, but later adjusted and started hitting sixes straight away.
Couldn’t practice on desired pitch due to BCCI
Abhishek Sharma came for practice 45 minutes late than other players. He wanted to practice near one of the five pitches located in the middle of the field, but due to BCCI rules he could not do so. He first wanted to practice against fast bowling, but a young bowler was bowling the ball on the stump line for the fifth consecutive time. On this, Abhishek advised him and said, “Brother, put it a little closer to the stumps.”
Abhishek Sharma practiced for about an hour. During this, he hit sixes, but also got out 3-4 times. He was out defending at every opportunity.
