YouTube will invest more than 850 Crore Rupees in India Creators Economy Announced by Ceo Neal Mohan

Waves Summit India 2025: Google-owned well-known online video-sharing platform YouTube will invest Rs 850 crore to further intensify the growth of the growing content Creation Economy in India in the next two years. In the first edition of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (Waves) held in Mumbai on Thursday, CEO Neel Mohan of YouTube said that the company has paid more than Rs 21,000 crore to the creators, artists and media companies in India in the last three years.

India emerged as ‘Creators Nation’

At the opening ceremony of the program, he said that India has emerged as a ‘Creators Nation’. Last year, more than 100 million Indian channels uploaded content on YouTube and out of these, there are 15,000 channels that have crossed the figure of one million subscribers. The CEO further said that the watch time of content made in India outside the country last year was 45 billion hours.

Powerful engine YouTube

CEO Neil Mohan says, “The ability to connect the creator of any place with the audience of every place has made it a powerful engine of cultural exports.” Today, India is not only ahead to make films and music in the world, but it is becoming increasingly ‘Creators Nation’. YouTube has given these creators a chance to transform their passion into successful business and generate their fans worldwide. ”

Waves 2025 is to be held for four days, the tagline ‘Connecting Creators, Connecting Country’, which is set to establish India as a global hub for media, entertainment and digital innovation by bringing one place to creators, startups, industry leaders and policymakers around the world.
