On Tuesday (December 30), PM Modi had expressed concern over the news of drone attacks on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized India on this. Ukraine rejected the allegations and said that they had not carried out any such attack.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian President has accused India of having a double attitude. Zelensky said that some countries, including India, which are condemning the attack on Putin’s residence, never said anything about the attacks on our children.
What did Zelensky say about India?
“Honestly, it is confusing and bad that India, UAE and some other countries condemned our alleged drone strikes on Putin’s residence, which never happened,” Zelensky said in an online press conference, according to Kyiv Independent report. He further said that for so long they (Russia) have been attacking our children and killing people but no one is condemning this. To be honest, I did not hear this from India, nor from UAE.
PM Modi had expressed concern
In fact, on December 29, Russia had claimed that Ukraine tried to attack President Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region with 91 drones. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in a post on X that he is very concerned by the news of targeting of President Putin’s residence. He further said that diplomatic efforts are the best way to end hostilities and achieve peace. Along with this, he appealed to all parties to avoid taking such steps which can weaken peace initiatives.
What did the Foreign Minister of Ukraine say
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Sibiha said that Kiev is disappointed and worried by the statements of India, UAE and Pakistan. In a post on X, Sibiha said that almost a day has passed and Russia still has not and will not provide any credible evidence of the alleged attack on Putin’s residence. Because there is no such evidence. No such attack took place.
