Zomato: The online food and grocery delivery company Jomato has been trimmed again. The company has fired more than 600 customer support executives from work within a year of hiring. The company has taken this step at a time when its food delivery is seen in the growth of business. On the other hand, his subsidiary Quick Commerce Company Blinkit (Blinkit) is also facing constant losses.
Staff fired without any notice
According to the Moneycontrol report, 1,500 customers caree executives were recruited in the company under Zomato Associate Accelerator Program (ZAAP). These employees, who were looking forward to promotion, came to a halt when the company announced the retrenchment. Most of these are employees whose contracts were not renewed and fired from work without any notice. Here, the company has told the increasing performance of AI and cost cutting in poor performance, indiscipline, customer support.
AI is being used fiercely
These days the company is emphasizing on automating its customer support service and for this Artificial Intelligence (AI) is starting to be used rapidly. Recently, the company has launched an AI-Gented Customer Support Platform in the name of Nugget. It is being used fiercely every month in 1.5 crore customer interaction.
Company deficit losses
At the same time, if we talk about the financial performance of the company, then in the third quarter of FY 2024-25, the company’s net profit has come down to 57 percent to 59 crore. Whereas in the same period last year, it was 138 crores.
