4 Indians killed in missile attack by friend ‘Russia’, Foreign Ministry angrily warned – ‘Putting the lives of Indians in danger…’

Ten people, including four Indian nationals, were killed in an attack on a Guinea-Bissau-flagged commercial ship sailing off the coast of Ukraine. India has strongly condemned this attack and has once again raised the demand for security of commercial ships during the conflict.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha said that Russia on Sunday attacked a civilian ship passing through Ukraine’s sea corridor and whose crew included citizens of Syria and India. This is the first case of death of Indian sailors in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Russian missiles attacked the ship: Ukraine

The Ukrainian Air Force claimed that Russia attacked the Guinea-Bissau-flagged ship with cruise missiles. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that M.V. There were 17 crew members on board this merchant ship named Golden Leo, which included five Indian citizens.

India condemned the attack, saying targeting commercial ships and endangering the lives of innocent civilian crew members was ‘reprehensible and should be avoided.’

The Foreign Ministry said, ‘On the evening of July 19, MV Golden Leo was attacked while leaving Odessa port. At the time of the incident, there were 17 crew members on board the ship, which included five Indian citizens.

The ministry said, ‘As per available information, four Indian nationals have tragically died, while one Indian national is hospitalized in a critical condition.’

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indian Embassy in Ukraine is continuously monitoring the situation and is making efforts to provide all possible assistance to the affected people. The ministry said, ‘We express our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased Indian citizens and wish for the speedy and complete recovery of the injured Indian citizen.’

India did not take the name of Russia

Without directly naming Russia, the External Affairs Ministry said, ‘India condemns such attacks and reiterates that targeting commercial ships, putting lives of innocent crew members at risk or hindering freedom of navigation and trade is condemnable and should not be done.’

According to Western media reports, the death toll in the attack has increased to 10. This incident has happened amid increasing hostility between Ukraine and Russia. Sibiha said in a social media post, ‘A common civilian ship. An international crew. A way to help the world’s food security. (Russian President Vladimir) Putin found another target.

He said, ‘There is no scope for any kind of confusion after this attack. Putin’s Russia doesn’t care who it kills – whether they are Ukrainians or citizens of any other country.
