Urvil Patel has created history by scoring the fastest half-century in the history of the Indian Premier League. He created history by completing fifty runs in 13 balls against Lucknow Super Giants. He has equaled Yashasvi Jaiswal in terms of scoring the fastest half-century. Urvil had hit 6 sixes in the first 8 balls of his innings. However, he missed Yuvraj Singh’s record of scoring fifty in 12 balls.
Fastest fifty in IPL history
Urvil Patel had scored 42 runs in just 8 balls, it was expected that he would break Yuvraj Singh’s record of fifty in 12 balls. Meanwhile, after the power play, there was a strategic time out, due to which Patel’s momentum might have been broken somewhere. Perhaps this is why it took him five balls to score the next 8 runs. But he did not miss the fastest half-century of IPL. By the time he completed his fifty in 13 balls, he had hit 6 sixes.
