The 125cc scooter segment is growing very fast in the Indian market and two names in it – Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125 are most discussed. Both the scooters are known for reliable performance, great build quality and value-for-money features, but if you are thinking of buying a new scooter, the question is which scooter is smarter and better?
Let us know who is ahead among these two scooters in terms of features, display and technology.

Instrument Cluster and Technology Features

  • Both scooters have a 4.2-inch TFT display with a modern look. This display is not only bright but can be easily read even in sunlight. Both scooters have Bluetooth connectivity feature, through which call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation can be seen. The display of Honda Activa 125 can be considered a bit advanced as it also includes an RPM gauge (tachometer). This feature helps in monitoring the engine revs while riding, which is not available in the Access 125. Whereas, Suzuki Access 125 maintains its place in this section. Another feature of the Activa 125 is that it has a 5-way joystick controller, which makes menu navigation easier. Overall, the Activa 125 looks a little ahead in terms of technology, but the Access 125 is not far behind.

Features and storage space

  • Talking about the features, both the scooters have been made keeping in mind the modern needs. The design of Suzuki Access 125 is more practical and space-friendly. It has two front storage pockets (cubby holes), which are very useful in keeping small everyday things like mobile, keys or wallet. Its under-seat storage is 24.4 litres, which is about 6.4 liters more than Activa 125. That means Access 125 has more space to keep bags or helmet. Whereas Honda Activa 125 creates a distinct identity because of its Idle Stop-Start system. This feature automatically stops the engine at the time of traffic signal or obstruction and starts it immediately when the clutch is pressed. This increases fuel efficiency and gives better mileage, which is very beneficial in daily riding.

Who is more hi-tech?

  • The H-Smart variant of Honda Activa 125 is the most advanced in terms of features. It has a keyless operation system, which is seen in very few models in the scooter segment till now. Its smart key fob allows the scooter to be started without the key. Apart from this, “Locate My Scooter” feature is also available in it, through which the scooter can be easily tracked in crowded parking areas. On the other hand, Suzuki Access 125 focuses on simple and practical design more than high-tech features. Its advantage is that this scooter is easy to use, cheap in maintenance and convenient for riders of all ages.
