Australia has defeated India 2-1 in the ODI series. The Kangaroo team won both the first matches, while the third ODI played in Sydney was won by India by 9 wickets. Before and during this ODI series, questions were being raised on the possibility of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing in the 2027 World Cup. Meanwhile, a post is going viral, in which a claim is being made quoting David Warner that he does not feel secure in the place of Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill in the team till the 2027 World Cup.
David Warner was quoted in the viral post as saying, “More than Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, I have more doubts about the place of Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir in the 2027 World Cup.” This statement quoting David Warner is viral on social media. However, ABP Live does not confirm whether Warner has said this during the commentary or not.
Virat Kohli was out without opening the account in the first two ODI matches against Australia. Amidst increasing pressure, he played an unbeaten inning of 74 runs in Sydney. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma was the highest run scorer in this series by scoring 202 runs. He played an unbeaten inning of 121 runs in Sydney and 73 runs in Adelaide.
When will Rohit and Virat play next?
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20 and Test formats. Both of them now play only ODI format. Team India’s next ODI series is to be with South Africa, Rohit and Virat can be seen playing in the same series. India vs South Africa ODI series will run from 30 November-6 December.
