Repeat your line-length
After the defeat, Iyer said, ‘Our team had to face defeat once again. Chasing the target of 158 runs was not at all easy, but as we all saw how fast England chased the run in the second innings. Our bowling was absolutely ordinary. I had told the bowlers to repeat their line-length because the batsmen were finding it very difficult to score runs in the off-stump and middle-leg, but we could not implement our plans properly.
will improve performance as soon as possible
Iyer stood in the match for Team India till the end. He played an unbeaten inning of 80 runs facing 49 balls, but Iyer did not look at all happy with his batting. He further said, ‘I am satisfied with my performance, but if the team cannot win then there is no point in batting. Right now we are all going through a change so we will make mistakes. We have to learn to adapt ourselves according to the circumstances. I am confident that there are players in our team who are quick learners and they will improve their performance as soon as possible.
