Most of the people who go to America from India for jobs work on posts like doctors, engineers, nurses, scientists and research scholars. They get huge salary in return for their work. According to the US Census Bureau, the average annual income of people of Indian origin in America is $95,000. This is an average estimate, which may be more or less.
Generally, people living in America often complain that their salary is decreasing due to immigration. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the years 2022-2025, the average income of Americans living in the US is between $59,430 and $68,124 annually. Every month they get a salary between $5,000-$6,000.

Through one of his posts on X, he had explained why Indians in America get better salaries as compared to citizens of other countries. He wrote, “We are smart.” We are in IT, engineering and medical – which are the highest paying jobs.”
He had told that Indians give importance to good education and are the most educated ethnic group. Along with good habits, Indians are also hardworking. While sharing an infographic, he had told how much the average income of Indians in America is compared to other countries. This infographic mentioned data from the US Census Bureau for 2013-15. The average income of an Indian in America is approximately $ 100,000, which is approximately Rs 88 lakh according to the current exchange rate. At the same time, people of China and Pakistan are at the bottom of the list in America with an average income of $69,100 and $66,200 respectively.
Dominance of Indians in many sectors
Here in the non-IT sector, Americans get better salaries than Indians because of their strong command over the local language. At the same time, there are many sectors where Indians get better salaries than Americans. This happens especially in the field of IT sector and software development. However, there can be many other reasons for the difference in salary, such as experience, skills, job profile, etc. The state in which you are working also has an impact. At some places the salary is more than expected and at other places it is less.
