Applications started for recruitment to thousands of posts in Railways, golden opportunity for graduates.


If you are preparing for a government job, then Indian Railways has brought a great opportunity for you. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released short notification for recruitment to the posts like Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). The application process for these posts will start from 31 October 2025. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of Railways rrbapply.gov.in.

The last date of application for this recruitment has been fixed as 30 November 2025. At the same time, if any candidate makes any mistake while filling the form, then Railways has also given him a chance to make corrections. Corrections can be made in the application from December 3 to December 12, 2025. Therefore, candidates are advised to check all the information carefully before submitting the form.

Who can apply?

Candidates applying for these posts should have B.E./B.Tech degree in relevant subject, or Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/IT. Apart from this, candidates who have done graduation with Chemistry and Physics are also eligible to apply.

age limit

According to Railway Recruitment Board, the minimum age for these posts has been kept at 18 years and maximum age at 33 years. Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026. Reserved category candidates will be given age relaxation as per government rules.

selection process

Selection in Railways will not be done through any one examination, but after four stages. Candidates will have to go through written examination (CBT), document verification and medical test.

  • First Stage – CBT I

There will be a total of 100 questions in the first phase exam and candidates will be given 90 minutes to solve it.
In this, questions will be asked from subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence, General Science and General Awareness.
There will be negative marking in the exam, 1/3 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

  • Second Stage – CBT II

There will be 150 questions in the second phase examination and the time has been fixed for 120 minutes.
In this, questions will be asked from technical subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Computer, Environment and General Awareness.
There will be no negative marking in this examination.

  • third step – Document Verification

Candidates who pass both the stages of CBT will have to get their documents verified.

  • Fourth step – medical examination

Before final selection, medical fitness test of the candidates will be conducted to ensure that they are fully fit for Railway service.

You will get this much salary

The candidates selected in this recruitment will get a salary of Rs 35,400 per month. Along with this, many government facilities like dearness allowance, traveling allowance, medical facilities, and pension benefits will also be provided by the Railways.

how much is the application fee

To apply, general, OBC and EWS category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 500. Fee relaxation has been given for SC, ST, women and disabled candidates. Candidates can pay the fee through debit card, credit card or net banking.
