Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (November 01, 2025), referring to Sadhu Yadav, brother of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, told the people of the state that if RJD returns to power, ‘Jungle Raj’ will return. Shah was to address an election rally in Gopalganj district, but due to bad weather he could not reach the rally venue, hence he addressed the rally digitally.

He said, ‘This election is an opportunity to decide to whom the future of Bihar should be entrusted. On one side are those people who started ‘Jungle Raj’. On the other hand, there is the pair of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who have brought development.

Amit Shah’s target on Sadhu Yadav

Shah said, ‘The people of Gopalganj have never voted for RJD since 2002. I am sure they will continue this trend. No one knows the exploits of Sadhu Yadav better than the people of Gopalganj. Sadhu Yadav, who was MLA and MP from Gopalganj, was considered very influential when his sister Rabri Devi was the Chief Minister of the state.

One of the charges against him was that of forcibly taking away cars from a showroom during the wedding of Rabri Devi’s eldest daughter Misa Bharti in 1999. This incident was mentioned by Prime Minister Modi at a rally earlier this week, although he did not take anyone’s name.

Sadhu Yadav’s name in Shilpi Gautam murder case

Yadav’s name also cropped up in the Shilpi Gautam murder case of the same year. Recently, this episode came into limelight when Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore alleged the connivance of then RJD leader and now BJP’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in this case.

The Home Minister also listed the names of those villages in Central Bihar which were in the news for massacres during the RJD rule. The massacres took place at a time when several districts of the state were in the grip of bloody conflict between outlawed Naxalite groups and private groups of upper caste landlords.

Shah mentioned the manifesto issued by NDA

Shah also reiterated the promises made by the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the manifesto released a day earlier. He said, ‘There are two main things in the manifesto, one for farmers and one for women, which I want to reiterate. Recently, Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Modi have deposited Rs 10,000 in the accounts of 1.41 crore ‘Jeevika Didis’. They will send up to Rs 2 lakh to all Jeevika Didis in different ways.

Describing the PM’s scheme, the Home Minister said, ‘We give Rs 6,000 per year to 27 lakh farmers of Bihar. Now, we will add Rs 3,000 to this and give Rs 9,000. Shah also said that all the sugar mills in the state will be reopened in the next five years.
