Election Commission’s big action on Mokama murder case, 4 officers including SP were transferred, 1 suspended


The situation in Bihar remains tense after the Mokama massacre. Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission has taken major action and transferred many officials of Mokama and Barh with immediate effect. The Commission has said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in the election environment.

Mokama-three flood officials transferred
The Election Commission has removed three officials of Mokama and Barh from their posts. This action has been taken after allegations of conspiracy, negligence and not being able to control the incidents in time. The Commission has given instructions to suspend one of these officers with immediate effect. An order has also been given to initiate departmental action against this.

SP was also transferred
The local SP has also been transferred. The Election Commission made it clear that this step was necessary to ensure law and order and fair election process. The Election Commission has asked the state government to submit ‘Action Taken Report’ (ATR) on this action by 12:00 noon tomorrow. It will be mandatory to give detailed description of all the steps.

Strictness on code of conduct and review of security arrangements
Earlier, the Election Commission had given orders to strictly implement the code of conduct in Bihar. Under this, it has been asked to keep a strict vigil on the borders of the state, keep a close watch on the unruly elements and those spreading rumors and take immediate action against them. Additional security forces will be deployed at sensitive and important polling stations. Besides, a detailed review has also been done regarding the security of strong room and EVMs, so that the election process can be completed in a safe and fair manner.

New FIR registered on Mokama violence, RJD supporters made allegations
The election atmosphere has become more tense after the murder of Jan Suraj supporter Dularchand Yadav in Mokama. Meanwhile, a third FIR has been registered in another case related to the incident.
Supporters of RJD candidate Veena Devi have filed a complaint at Pandarak police station, in which Sumit, Sonu and Golu have been made accused. It is alleged that during the uproar during the funeral procession of Dularchand Yadav, Veena Devi’s convoy was attacked and her vehicles were vandalized.

Three FIRs have already been registered in this case. Dularchand’s grandson Neeraj Kumar has named Anant Singh, his nephews Rajveer and Karmaveer, as well as Chhotan Singh and Kanjay Singh. Here, on the complaint of Anant Singh’s supporter Jitendra Kumar, Jan Suraj candidate Priyadarshi Piyush and his supporters – Lakhan Mahato, Bajo Mahato, Nitish Mahato, Ishwar Mahato and Ajay Mahato have been made accused.
