India – 74 runs (Melbourne, 2008)
This was a dark day in India’s T20 history. In the match played in Melbourne on 1 February 2008, the Indian team was bundled out for only 74 runs. Australian bowlers wreaked havoc on Indian batsmen that day. Bowlers like Nathan Bracken and Adam Voges did not give any chance to the Indian batsmen to recover. India had lost this match badly.
Australia – 86 runs (Mirpur, 2014)
On March 30, 2014, during the T20 World Cup, in the match played in Mirpur, the Australian team could not stand against India and was all out for only 86 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra together destroyed the Australian batting. India won this match easily and reached the semi-finals in that tournament.
India – 118 runs (Guwahati, 2017)
India’s batting faltered in the T20 match played on 10 October 2017 in Guwahati. Despite playing full 20 overs, the team scored only 118 runs. Australia achieved this target without any problem and defeated India by 8 wickets.
India -125 runs (Melbourne, 2025)
Recently, on 31 October 2025, India’s batting again proved to be a huge flop in Melbourne. The Indian team was out for only 125 runs. Australia chased this score and won easily. This match was once again a reminder for India how important starts and partnerships are in T20.
India – 126/7 (Visakhapatnam, 2019)
On 24 February 2019, Indian batsmen once again looked helpless in front of the Australian bowlers. Batting first, they scored only 126 runs, in which Lokesh Rahul took the lead alone. In reply, Australia registered a thrilling win on the last ball.
