Stock Market Today: The first trading session of the week in the Indian stock market on Monday, November 3, started with a decline. Both the major indices opened trading in the red. The 30-share BSE Sensex index started the trading day at 83,835.10, down 103.61 points or 0.12 per cent. At the same time, NSE Nifty 50 also opened trading in the red at 25,696.85 with a decline of 25.25 points or 0.10 percent.
By 9:20 am, the Sensex was trading at 83,718, down 219 points. Whereas Nifty 50 was trading at 25,678 with a fall of 44 points. Shortly after the beginning of the trading day, the decline in both the major benchmark indices intensified. Only 3 shares from BSE basket were trading in the green.

In the last trading session of the week, on Friday, October 31, there was a huge decline in the Indian stock market and both the major indices closed trading in the red. The Sensex ended the trading day at 83,938.71 points, down 465.75 points or 0.55 percent, while the NSE Nifty 50 ended the trading day at 25,722.10, down 155.75 points or 0.60 percent.
TCS, ITC, SBIN were the top gainers from BSE basket. Talking about the top losers, Eternal, NTPC, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank and Power Grid were. Nifty FMCG, Nifty IT, Nifty Smallcap, Nifty Midcap, Nifty Bank, Nifty 100 and Nifty Auto closed in the red. On Friday’s trading day, 5 shares from BSE basket closed in the green and 21 shares recorded a decline.
