During his long-term posting in Kanpur city, he allegedly acquired illegal assets worth about Rs 100 crore. The SIT investigation has revealed that Shukla created many benami properties in the name of his family, partners and close associates, which include 11 shops in Aryanagar and many other properties.

DSP i.e. Deputy Superintendent of Police is a state level officer whose recruitment is done through the State Public Service Commission. It is a respectable and responsible post.

The pay scale of DSP in Uttar Pradesh government ranges from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,67,800. According to the 7th Pay Commission, the in-hand salary of a DSP is around Rs 73,000 to 80,000, depending on the years of service and grade pay.

The government bears the expenses of travel allowance and petrol. Separate amount for uniform and its maintenance. The entire family gets government health facilities and insurance cover.
