Another bad news has come out from Assam. After the death of popular singer Zubeen Garg, famous flute player Deepak Sarma is no more in this world. He was suffering from serious liver disease for the last few years. Deepak Sarma was admitted in the hospital for a long time. Where he was on ventilator support. He died yesterday i.e. on 3rd November. There is a wave of mourning in the entire music world due to this news.
Assam Governor expressed grief
Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya has expressed grief over the demise of Deepak Sarma. He said, “Assam has lost an eminent musician, who contributed to the popularization of Indian classical music, especially the flute, on the global stage. He will be remembered for generations. His demise is an irreparable loss to the music world..”
Deeply anguished to learn about the untimely demise of eminent flutist Dipak Sarma, who has contributed immensely towards Assamese music and popularized flute as a musical instrument.

Who was Deepak Sarma,
Deepak Sarma was a flute player. Who had taken lessons from the great flute player Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Deepak had displayed his art not only in India but all over the world. He was also a part of many Hindi and regional films. Deepak Sarma made Assam proud even in foreign countries. Deepak Sarma also worked with some of the great cultural figures of Assam including Bhupen Hazarika and Zubin Garg. After the death of Zubeen Garg, now fans are in deep mourning over the demise of Deepak Sarma.
