Only family members and close friends attended this registered marriage which took place at his home in Mumbai. Now Aamir Khan’s very close friend and co-star of the film ‘Lagaan’ Amin Haji has exposed this secret. Recently in an interview, he revealed why Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta did not come to Aamir Khan’s third wedding.
For this reason Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta were not seen at the wedding
While talking to Rediff.com, Amin Haji told that when Aamir Khan got married, Kiran Rao was not in India. He said, ‘Kiran was in UK at that time. However, his son Azad Khan returned to Mumbai alone to attend the wedding. I think sometimes it is better to maintain distance. Giving someone their personal space is also a way of expressing love and respect. You don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable on such a special occasion. Aamir, Satyajit Bhatkal, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao still have very good relations. All of them are working together through ‘Paani Foundation’.

Amin Haji further said, ‘Even after divorce, Aamir always stands with the families of his ex-wives in their happiness and sorrow. When Reena Dutta’s father died, she was not in India. At that time Aamir had asked me and Karim to help and remain present there till all the funeral rituals were completed.
What did Amin say about Reena Dutta?
Praising Aamir’s first wife Reena Dutta, Amin Haji said, “Reena is a very strong person. She produced the film ‘Lagaan’ only because she knew that Aamir needed her support. Whenever there were differences between the two regarding budget or production, Aamir never ignored her opinion. He used to explain why certain decisions were necessary for the film. The foundation of their relationship was based on mutual respect. When Aamir When he told us that he and Reena were separating, I was heartbroken.
Children added charm to the wedding
Even though Reena and Kiran could not be a part of this wedding, Aamir Khan’s three children were seen standing with their father on this special occasion. Azad Rao Khan, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan participated in every function of the wedding with full enthusiasm. Apart from this, well-known personalities like Rajkumar Hirani, Ashutosh Gowarikar and Raj Thackeray were also present in the wedding.
