South Africa – 55 runs (Cape Town, 2024)
The Cape Town Test in January 2024 was an incredible match in cricket history. The South African team was reduced to just 55 runs in the first innings. Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj then wreaked havoc and took 6 wickets. This test match was over within two days and India had registered a spectacular victory. This is the lowest score of the African team so far in a Test against India.
India – 66 runs (Durban, 1996)
Indian batting completely collapsed in the Test played in Durban in December 1996. In front of the pace attack of South Africa, the entire team was out for just 66 runs. The pair of Allan Donald and Shaun Pollock did not allow the Indian batsmen to survive. India lost that match by an innings and 32 runs.
India – 76 runs (Ahmedabad, 2008)
In April 2008, India had to face a shameful defeat on the home pitch in the Ahmedabad Test. In the first innings, the Indian team was bundled out for just 76 runs. Dale Steyn took 5 wickets with his deadly swing. Although South Africa won the match easily, it was one of India’s worst innings on home soil.
South Africa – 79 runs (Nagpur, 2015)
In November 2015, Indian bowlers had bowled out South Africa for just 79 runs on the spin pitch of Nagpur. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja bowled brilliantly together and put the African batsmen on the backfoot. India won that match easily and won the series.
South Africa – 84 runs (Johannesburg, 2006)
Indian fast bowlers performed brilliantly in Johannesburg in December 2006. The South African team collapsed for just 84 runs in the second innings. Zaheer Khan and Sreesanth together broke the backbone of Africa’s batting. By winning that match, India had registered a historic victory abroad.
