Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met and hosted the Women’s World Cup champion team at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg. Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women’s team won its first World Cup title by defeating South Africa in the final played on Sunday. In this meeting, the captain remembered that moment of 2017, when she met PM Modi without a trophy. Smriti Mandhana said that PM has been an inspiration for everyone.

The Indian women’s cricket team reached Delhi on Tuesday by a special chartered flight (S5 8328) of Star Air. In Delhi, the players were taken from the airport to the hotel under tight security. All the players will return to their homes after meeting PM Modi.
