In the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections, voting is going on with full zeal and enthusiasm since morning today (6 November). Meanwhile, the family of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav also arrived to cast his vote. Grand alliance’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav voted from Raghopur seat. Along with him, his mother and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, sister Misa Bharti and sister Rohini Acharya also exercised their franchise.

Change is necessary, create a new Bihar – Tejashwi Yadav

After casting his vote, Tejashwi Yadav said, “We will only say that change is necessary, create a new Bihar, form a new government.” He further said, “We all together have to make Bihar number one, we have to create a new Bihar where there is a government with education, medicine, earning, irrigation, hearing and action, a government free from corruption and crime. We have to form such a government which does not lathicharge the youth and does not leak papers.”

Rabri Devi blessed her sons

Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi also came to cast her vote. After voting, he said, “There is an appeal to all the voters to cast their vote. Mother’s best wishes to both the sons, blessings to both of them.” He said that this time the public is voting against inflation, unemployment and corruption.

People want change- Misa Bharti

RJD MP Misa Bharti also expressed her views after voting. He said, “This time the public wants change, and change will happen.” Misa appealed to the voters, “Vote thoughtfully for your future, for the future of your children. Give your support to the Grand Alliance.”

Lalu Yadav’s daughter and RJD leader Rohini Acharya said, “This election is for our labor brothers who are struggling from pillar to post for employment in the villages. I am confident that our people, the people of Bihar, will elect a government that provides employment and will uproot the double engine government.”

In many districts of the state, long queues are being seen at polling stations since morning. Youth, women and elders all came out of their homes to cast their votes. The Election Commission has made strict security arrangements for the first phase of voting.
