Samajwadi Party’s senior leader Azam Khan met SP national president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Friday. After being released from Sitapur jail, Azam came to Lucknow for the first time. This meeting was not just between Azam and Akhilesh but this time Abdullahi Azam was also with him. Although Azam Khan denied the political purpose of this meeting, it is almost impossible for any meeting between political personalities to be without any meaning.
Azam Khan also spoke to journalists after meeting Akhilesh. During this he said that we talked openly to each other. When two like-minded leaders meet, good conversations automatically happen. The opposition often says such things which are for their political benefit. Every party has its own ideology and beliefs. All I can say is that there will be a wave of change in 2027, and I will be a part of it.
Who does not remember this statement of Azam?
It is noteworthy that when Akhilesh Yadav reached Rampur to meet Azam Khan, the former cabinet minister had made it clear that this meeting would take place only between those two people. At that time it had become a topic of discussion that what was it that Azam himself met Akhilesh but kept other members of the family away from it?
Now it is being discussed in the political circles that while meeting Akhilesh in Rampur, Azam first aired his grievances. In such a situation, now Azam reached Akhilesh with Abdullah.
It is believed that after his own grievances are resolved, Azam is now worried about his son’s political career. In such a situation, he met Akhilesh, that too with his son.

Let us also mention here that even when Abdullah returned home after being released from jail with his mother Tanzin Fatima, he did not come to Lucknow to meet Akhilesh. Nor did any representative of the SP Chief go to Rampur to meet Abdullah and his mother.
Azam’s pain was spilled
Azam Khan was also pained by this. That’s why when Akhilesh was going to Rampur to meet Azam in October, before that Azam had said that on the day of Eid, my wife was crying alone. Did anyone come to meet? Did anyone call?
Now that the ice has melted on the ground of relations between Azam, SP and Akhilesh, the clear political implications of his meeting with Abdullah are being drawn that he is ready to open new doors for his son in SP.
However, it is also worth noting here that both Abdullah and Azam cannot contest as candidates in the 2027 assembly elections unless a court stays or cancels their sentence.
Now it will be interesting to see whether this meeting of Azam, Abdullah and Akhilesh will blossom in the future?
