Constipation Relief: The problem of constipation is very common all over the world and millions of people are struggling with it. This problem not only affects the daily life of people, but also imposes huge expenses on the healthcare system. According to experts, about 15 percent of people in America are suffering from constipation for a long time. In many reports this figure has been stated to range from 9 percent to 20 percent. That means almost one or two out of every ten people are struggling with this problem. This is not just a problem for the elderly. Although about one-third of people above 65 years of age are affected by it, it can occur at any age. This problem is seen almost three times more in women than in men. Let us tell you how this can be avoided

How to prevent this?

Often people hesitate to talk to the doctor on this subject and try to treat it on their own. Most people try to get relief from medicines available without prescription. But it is true that this is a common problem, and this is the reason most people go to the doctor for stomach related complaints. It may seem minor, but constipation can have a profound impact on everyday life. Recently, Dr. Joseph Salhab, known as thestomachdoc on social media, has revealed an easy home remedy to get relief from constipation. By sharing a video on Instagram, he explained how abdominal massage should be done so that one can get relief from constipation.

How will abdominal massage provide relief from constipation?

According to Dr. Salhab, light massage of the stomach helps in increasing the movement of the intestines, which makes bowel movements easier. He also told how to do it, like for this, first of all lie down on your back. After that bend your knees and keep your feet on the bed. Leave the abdominal muscles loose. Start massaging with light hands from the right lower part. Then go up, go to the left and come down, i.e. make a circular motion on the stomach. You have to do this process for about 5 minutes.

Sacral Inhibit Technique

Along with this, he has advised to adopt a technique called Sacral Inhibition. In this, light pressure is given on the lower back, i.e. the sacrum (triangular bone below the spine). This technique may sound medical, but it is quite simple and is often used in osteopathic or physiotherapy. According to Dr. Salhab, the sacrum is connected to the body’s nervous system, specifically the parasympathetic nerves, which influence digestion, bladder control, and relaxation. When gentle pressure is applied to this area, it calms the imbalanced nerve signals, similar to pressing the body’s relax button.

This technique not only helps in constipation but also in problems like pelvic tension, urinary problems and stress. It is also used for stomach problems in children or various problems in adults. Its biggest feature is that it is a completely safe, drug-free process that gives deep relief to the body.
