A heart-wrenching road accident took place in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. Near Butrada flyover on Panipat-Khatima highway, a speeding Swift car rammed into a canter parked on the roadside. The collision was so strong that the car was blown apart and the four youths traveling in it died tragically on the spot.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened around 1 o’clock in the night. Swift car (number HR-19K-8004) is said to be from Charkhidadri. It is being told that the four youths were going towards Muzaffarnagar by car.
As they reached near Butrada flyover, the car suddenly went out of control and hit the rear of the canter parked on the roadside. The sound of the accident was so loud that people nearby ran to the spot.
Dead bodies were taken out after cutting the car.
The collision was so terrible that the front part of the car was completely crushed and all four youths got trapped inside the car. Police reached the spot and cut the vehicle with the help of a gas cutter and took out the bodies. The car has been completely damaged in this accident. Police reached the spot, took possession of the dead bodies and sent them to the district hospital for post-mortem.
ASP and police station reached the spot
As soon as the information was received, ASP Santosh Kumar Singh and Babri police station reached the spot. The police have taken possession of the canter and started investigation. At present the canter driver is said to be absconding. ASP said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the car is from Charkhi Dadri and the four youths in it were going towards Muzaffarnagar.
Liquor bottles found in car
During the spot investigation, liquor bottles were also found inside the car. Due to this, it is feared that the youth traveling in the car was in an intoxicated state at the time of the accident. The police is now investigating from this angle also. Information has also been sent to nearby police stations to identify the dead bodies.
After the accident, there was a long jam on the highway. By morning the police rescued and cleared the road and restored traffic. There is an atmosphere of panic among the local people after the incident. People say that accidents keep happening near this flyover every day, but security arrangements have not been made on the road.
Negligence will be investigated – Police
ASP Santosh Kumar Singh said, “In the preliminary investigation, it seems that the accident occurred due to high speed and careless driving. Liquor bottles have also been recovered from the car. Efforts are on to identify the four deceased, the families are being informed.” At present, the police have started further action by sending the bodies for post-mortem. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the relatives of the deceased and the villagers also reached the hospital, where the atmosphere became sad.
